Litigation Legal Assistant - #12992
Our client, a very well-known firm in downtown Toronto, has an opening for a Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team! If you have at least 3 years of litigation experience and are ready to move up in the world, then we need to hear from you!
This role, working with institutional clients and highly sensitive civil cases, requires someone with very strong organizational and time-management skills who really understands litigation and will go that extra step to keep the lawyers on track! As our ideal candidate you are a bright, professional and proactive Legal Assistant with very strong communication and technical skills, a solid understanding of the Rules, a keen eye for details, excellent client service skills and good judgement. Experience with MS Office and DMS is required. Is that you?
Some of the thing you'll be doing here will include:
-Coordinating workflow for lawyers;
-Scheduling meetings, conferences, and managing changes to lawyers' calendars;
-Screening calls, emails, and mail and answering/routing appropriately;
-Preparing, proof-reading and/or reformatting correspondence, dismissal orders, and other legal documents according to instructions, dictation, or precedents;
-Opening, closing, and maintaining litigation files in order;
-Handling accounting duties (entering dockets, preparing client statements and bills);
-Updating contact database; and
-Other administrative duties as may be required.
