Litigation Assistant - #12812
Our client, a thriving boutique firm in downtown Toronto, has an immediate opening for a Litigation Assistant to join them on a permanent basis!
This is a fabulous opportunity to develop your skills in Intellectual Property! As our ideal candidate for this role, you come with at least 3 years of experience in IP and/or commercial litigation, along with a solid understanding of legal terms, procedures, and reference materials. You should also have excellent writing, time management, and organizational abilities, a positive and flexible attitude, willingness to learn and grow, and a solid commitment to client service. Strong proficiency with MS Office is required here; experience with Aderant, Pattsy, and any litigation software would be an asset too!
Some of the things you'll be doing here:
-Drafting and proofreading correspondence and legal documents using precedents;
-Liaising with clients for scheduling and other administrative matters;
-Organizing and maintaining legal files;
-Maintaining due dates, scheduling meetings, court dates, and travel arrangements for lawyers;
-Providing administrative support for conferences and industry events;
-Arranging for service and filing of court documents; and
-Providing back-up coverage to other members in the group during absences.
