Our client, a highly-regarded boutique law firm in downtown Toronto, has an opening for a Director of Finance and Administration.

In this role you will touch on a broad spectrum of responsibilities including financial and administrative work, human resources, operations & facilities, information technology, marketing and planning. You will be the go-to person that makes everything run smoothly!

As our ideal candidate you are a seasoned professional CPA (preferred). You are a natural leader with top-of-the-line organizational and interpersonal skills, creative problem-solving abilities, a cool head, and financial acumen. Preference will be given to candidates with legal experience and proficiency with PC Law. Your responsibilities in this role will include:

Financial Management

-Overseeing business policies and accounting practices;
-Preparing/ reviewing financial reports and performance metrics;
-Supporting and advising the Firm in its financial decision making and forecasting and reporting;

Human Resources:

-Developing / maintaining appropriate human resources policies and recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies;
-Manage onboarding, professional training and development, performance management, and compensation;

Operations & Facilities

-Overseeing facilities issues and risk management and legal activities, including letters of agreement, contracts, leases etc.;
-Organizing planning meetings with Management Committee, Partners, Lawyer, and Staff and ensure all required materials are available;
-Identifying and assessing opportunities to build and enhance the Firm's legal practice and brand
-Acting as point person with the firm's IT providers, identify opportunities to gain efficiencies and to hold providers accountable to providing superior service;
-Working with the Management Committee, you will spearhead any special projects that the Firm undertakes.
